It Could Be A Sign
Saturday night was I doing dishes after Cole got home. Anyone that has ever stayed with us know that he gets off late, comes home late and eats dinner late. So I usually save dishes till after he eats. Well, I was washing the dishes that don't fit/can't be put in the dishwasher or need to use right away. So I was going to wash the coffee pot. I grabbed it and started scrubbing. And then unfortunately, a few choice words flew out of my mouth. I broke my coffee pot. And it hurt my finger and hand. Well, actually, it took out a chunk of my finger, and cut my hand in several other places. So Cole got me a bandaid. And well, it filled up the bandaid and the papertowel in about 10 minutes. So we headed to Wal-Greens at 9:45 at night. It eventually stopped bleeding. However, my finger is wrapped in gauze and covered in hot pink vet wrap. Rionn was a little upset because I used Annie's vet wrap, but I explained that people can use it too. :) Anyways, it could be a sign that too much housework could be hazardous for your health. Really, I had been cleaning most of the day.

Too Small
One year for Halloween Rionn was batman. Well, that batman costume has lasted till now. Little girls walk around in their princess dress and dress up shoes. Well, my son walks around in his batman costume. At home, at the store, and pretty much anywhere. Well, it's just now becoming too small. It doesn't even do up in the back. He doesn't care. As long as he can get his legs and arms in there, it's all good to him. So this year for Halloween, I suppose he'll be batman again. Just so he can have a costume that fits.

They Make It Sound Like A Lot More Fun
So last year we bought this big ol house. And by big, I mean we probably only use half the house and the little play area of the back yard that is fenced. Anyways, owning a home was supposed to be a joyous. Like we're moving ahead in the world. But right now, I'd almost like to be back in our little townhouse. The roof is leaking and the thermomstat is not working. Did I mention it's in the low 30's, winds around 60 mph, and we are supposed to get at least 6 inches of snow tomorrow. It started raining today right after I picked Rionn up from school. Needless to say, I'm done with winter. I'd rather have our triple digit dry summer than this. Of course, I'm probably being a Debbie Downer since it's cold, and the carpet is wet. And now the house smells like dog. Ok, I'm done ranting. Hopefully this is the last storm of winter. And then there will be happier posts.

A Boy And His Dog
When Rionn was first born, my mom's dog took him over. Dakota loved him and was the first in the room when he cried or even made a sound. We often asked the dog where his baby was and then he'd run to where ever Rionn was. Then my parents moved an hour and a half away. And Dakota and Rionn missed each other terribly
And then along came Anabel. Annie is just what Rionn needed. She's calm and laid back. She's a good match for him. He can practice his reading and she just lays there and hangs on every word his says. Whether it's wrong or right. And when we go on walks, she just walks with him. Doesn't pull him around. And trust me, her 60 pounds can definately over power his 43 pounds any day. So my boy has his very own dog. That he doesn't have to share with anyone else. And Annie doesn't want to share him with anyone else either.

Bad Weather Benefits
So we had our nice, just wear jeans and t-shirts, days. Well, apparently they've disappeared. This past Wednesday we had some more rain. Yesterday it rained all day. And by the time that nighttime came, it almost sounded like there was a hurricane going on outside. I'm surprised that we don't have any damage. Anyways, once Cole got home and the rain really started, we let the dogs in. They took full advantage of it.
Especially Rosco and Annie.

Science Night
Last night was science night at Rionn's school. It was one of those nights where karate ended as science night began. Good thing the karate studio is near the school. The kids got to show off their science fair projects and then got to find out who won some awards and who was going to district. Rionn was so excited about his participation ribbon. He did a great job. And judging by the winners, we know what subject to do the science fair project on next year.

He Was Most Excited About....
Today is the day of Love. Or if everyday is a love day for you, it's Valentine's Day. I got Cole a new green shirt. Imagine that. He loves collars and the color green so a forest green polo it was. I got Rionn magnets with funny animal faces. And I got roses. But Rionn was most excited about the temporary tattoos that came in some of his valentines. However, his school bans temporary tatoos, so if he uses them, they'll have to be under his sleeves. The candy got dumped, valentine's went flying. That's how excited he was. Now it's off to dinner. I get dinner duties off tonight.

It Was Almost Like The Beginning
So Cole and I had an early Valentine's date last night. Since my parents took Rionn for the weekend and we both have to work Monday, we decided at the last minute that we should go out after he got off of work. And we did. It was nice to go out to dinner with talking about games and school and transformer. You know, the typical 6 year old boy conversation pieces. It was almost like our dates before Rionn arrived. When it was just us, no time restraints. Except we are slowly moving up. In that we went to a sit down Mexican restaurant instead of Taco Bell. And we didn't order the cheapest thing either. It was nice. And it's probably something we should do more often. But hey, we love our kiddo and he goes everywhere with us. Oh and after all these years, yes, those blue eyes still suck me in everytime.

What To Do
So Papa and Grammie have Rionn till Sunday afternoon. And well, Papa came and got him right as Cole was leaving for work. Since I'm still on the mend from the car accident, I decided that I should take it easy. Did a load of laundry, mended some pants. Less than normal everyday stuff, but more than sitting around. I don't do that very well, especially when I need to. LOL! Anyways, I went to lunch with my mom and then she treated me to a manicure while she got her toes done. Then I came home and baked. For some reason, I always bake when no one is home. So I made 2 batches of blueberry muffins and some pumpkin spice cookies. We'll see what tomorrow holds. I may try and get another quilt done. I have one for my etsy store almost done and another I need for a lady at church. It's actually for her baby shower but she's not finding out what she's having. So I'm going with a baby/non-gender type of quilt. I'll probably post pictures either here or on facebook.
It Felt Like A Train
So earlier this week on Tuesday, I was rear-ended on the way to work. Luckily it was about 5 minutes after dropping Rionn off at school. But it felt like I was hit by a train. Where Rionn's school is happens to be on a road with a higher speed limit. But if you're going from our house to my work, first you get to Rionn's school, then the middle school, then after that, another elementary school. So people know, you have to pay attention. I happened to be stopped, waiting for a car to turn left to go to the 2nd elementary school. And then I got hit. It felt like I got hit by a train, but nope, it was a Jeep. The guy who was driving got out and came to my door and said, "I didn't see you. I looked up and there you were." HUH?!? He was lucky that he hit me and not another kid. I mean, there are kids everywhere in the morning. So yes, I was stopped and he was going 45 and didn't even slow down. Anyways, I called Cole. He always said that my car doesn't have a good record when it comes to rear-enders. But luckily, you can't really tell I was in an accident. However, we don't really know what all is wrong. So far, the estimates we got they say we need a new bumper, bumper cover and probably a new tailgate. It's iffy though since I have the hitch on my car which is in the bumper and can bend the frame. So we'll see. The insurance guy was supposed to come to our house yesterday and look at it, but he didn't show. So I'll keep you all update. Other than that, I'm sore and probably will be for a while. And Rionn is sad about his transformer.

Future Bee?
Rionn came home yesterday with all the class work that he's done over the next week. In his papers were his first spelling test. And he aced it. 100% Yep, all 5- 3 letter words. He's proud of it. And it's currently hanging on the fridge.

We've Been A Little Busy
So I haven't been updating this blog. Mostly because we've been trying to finish up Rionn's science fair project. It also hasn't slowed down any. I was hoping to get a few slow weeks before the next group of holidays and events get here. But it doesn't look that way. This year is just bound and determined to move along faster than 2010. Anyways, tomorrow, I'll post pictures of the finished project. He has to turn it in Friday.
